At Nokia Tech Day 2026, Richard Petrie, CTO and executive director at LINX (the London Internet Exchange), explains that as part of the UK’s critical national infrastructure, the organisation connects around a hundred terabits of access capacity into the internet for a thousand members spanning nearly a hundred countries. He also discusses how AI inference and machine-to-machine traffic are moving traffic dynamics and datacentre power demands away from traditional content delivery, and reveals LINX's eight-year Nokia partnership scaling connectivity up to 1.6 terabits.
