1Finity announces Open Networking Innovation Center – Americas

Sunnyvale, California – 1Finity, a Fujitsu company and leading global network solutions provider, and Fujitsu today announced the launch of the Open Networking Innovation Center-Americas (ONIC-Americas) in Sunnyvale, California. Supported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan, ONIC-Americas builds on the success of ONIC-Europe in Germany by expanding 1Finity’s global innovation footprint and fostering collaboration among network operators, vendors, integrators, and enterprises. The center is designed to accelerate adoption of multivendor, low-power, high-capacity solutions and deepen industry understanding of Open All-Photonics Networking (APN) and Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) initiatives.

As network operators transform digital infrastructure to meet escalating networking demands, they are challenged to realize multivendor interoperability, lower latency, higher transmission and low power consumption. The Open Networking Innovation Center-Americas is designed to overcome traditional barriers to facilitate multivendor equipment testing, and demonstrate high-performance, reliable, and sustainable technologies and services to meet the most pressing challenges.

Opening in November 2025, the ONIC-Americas Lab provides a dynamic environment for real-world interoperability testing. Participants can bring their own equipment to validate seamless integration across diverse vendor technologies, with a focus on key applications such as IP-over-DWDM.

In addition to collaborative testing, the lab features advanced demonstrations including:

These demonstrations empower industry stakeholders to experience the future of sustainable, reliable, and high-performance network infrastructures.

“The 1Finity Open Networking Innovation Center – Americas will be a catalyst for innovation, enabling a truly collaborative experience where the brightest minds in networking can come together to envision the future of connectivity,” said Rod Naphan, Chief Revenue Officer and Head of Network Customer Success Unit at 1Finity Inc. “This center underscores our commitment to driving open standards, fostering interoperability and promoting environmentally conscious networking practices. We’re excited to welcome industry visitors to help shape the future of open, sustainable, multivendor networks for the benefit of our entire ecosystem.”
