Tim Smith, VP Nokia Software, Europe, Nokia

Nokia has a significant and growing software business (€2 billion annualised) but what people do not realise is why it is there. The answer, according to Tim Smith, VP Sales, Nokia Software, is about differentiation. Historically, operators would think about service orchestration independently from domain orchestration and assurance but with 5G that will not work. The real issue is differentiation in a 5G world will be about services not networks and these services will be hugely diverse and involve many different business models. To learn about Nokia’s software business and its perspective on how to monetise 5G services, look no further than this video.
