The 2nd meeting of the "5G Mobilizer" project was held from the 22nd to 24th May at the facilities of the Creative Science Park. The work was organized in parallel and plenary sessions, with the participation of 60 representatives from 14 national industrial and academic entities, where it was possible to review the first results obtained and to plan the next months.

This meeting was also an opportunity to finalise the preparations for the "5G: from deployment to exploitation" workshop, held on the 25th May at the same site, jointly organized by the 5G Mirror project and platform, also funded by COMPETE 2020. The workshop registered 160 applications, with the participation of 14 external speakers.

The "5G Mobilizer" project has a duration of 36 months, extending until the end of 2020, presenting a perfect alignment with the current schedule of development and production of 5G technology worldwide. With five months remaining, the work, in line with what was planned, has focused on the characterization of the state of the art, identification of the relevant use cases and extraction of requirements, on the revision of the list of products and services to be obtained, as well as on the design of a global architecture to be built and demonstrated within the project.

The entities included in the consortium led by Altice Labs are: Altran Portugal, EFACEC Energia, EFACEC Engenharia e Sistemas, Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, INESC TEC, Telecommunications Institute, IT Center, Nokia Solutions and Networks Portugal, One Source, PDM & FC, UBIWHERE, TICE.PT and WAVECOM. In addition to these, other entities such as EDP, Infraestruturas de Portugal, MEO, Aveiro Port and VIATEL will follow up on the project.

The project, part of the Business Incentives System, Research and Technological Development, Mobilizing Programs, has a total investment of 9.720 thousand euros, being co-financed in the amount of 6.162 thousand euros by Lisbon 2020 and COMPETE 2020, from Portugal 2020, in the context of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
