Hans-Juergen Schmidtke, Co-Chair of the Open Optical & Packet Transport group (OOPT), Telecom Infra Project

The Telecom Infra Project has reported significant updates around its disaggregated cell site gateway (DCSG) switch router group, preparing for mass deployment by building an ecosystem of more than 20 companies. Its network of Community Labs are important to TIP and project groups such as DCSG, acting as hubs where partners and developers come together and build together, leading to further innovation. But it’s not just for the actual hardware, the Community Labs also provide a framework for creating and developing ideas, as well as the sharing of ideas within the ecosystem.
