Hendrik Schulze, co-founder and CEO of Ipoque explains why DPI is being rehabilitated to work in a neutral way to optimise the network's quality of experience. Ipoque's technology identifies different applications and then has the network groom the traffic to optimise some - say time-sensitive voice - by marginally slowing others, such as email downloads. Users don't notice the slower email but do notice the voice quality improvement.
