Forrest Lee, OPNFV Open Source Development Team Director, Huawei

China's Hauwei believes that OPNFV has had a very successful start to life and has made great progress over the past two years - so much so that standards and products are now field-ready. Forrest Lee believes that one of OPNFV's greatest strengths is that it is not a classic, traditional open source community but is able to provide an industry-wide framework able to meet the requirements of operators across the globe, including the all-important acceleration of NFV deployment. That is why, he says, operators are keen to support it. Forrest Lee concedes that some challenges remain to be addressed, particularly in terms of more and better collaboration with the upstream community.
