Enrique Blanco, CTO of Telefónica reveals exclusive details about the operator's new global virtualisation project, called Unica. He says that Unica, which will be launched in June this year and cover 30 per cent of new infrastructures by 2016, allows Telefonica to launch new services that are differentiated by improved quality levels and personalisation for the end user. It is currently working on three NFV projects in Spain, the US and Mexico with Huawei, NEC and Alcatel-Lucent.

Enrique Blanco was interviewed at Telefonica's headquarters in Madrid, Spain, in February.
