The gateway is designed to get M2M feeds quickly and securely integrated with the core back office system and supports a comprehensive list of databases with transports and connectors: these include IBM's DB2, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and SAP.

“The deviceWISE M2M Enterprise Gateway provides value to customers with its support of industry-standard application connectors and click-to-configure, easy-to-use configuration tools,” the press release has Jim Wert, Vice President of M2M Engineering at ILS Technology, saying. “It simplifies the task of giving OEMs and Enterprise customers more actionable information from distributed assets, without the need for a programming staff.”

While the ILS technology has been designed to feed device data into the enterprise data centre, the company is also offering a hosted (software as a service - SaaS) model where it takes away the capital and opex burden of running the gateway with a choice of licencing and hosting deals.
