UNICA will take a few years to completely roll out, but at the end of it Telefonica's network will be virtualized, says Saar Gillai. That's a big deal for both Telefonica and HP, he tells Martyn Warwick  as it endorses the company's open platform positioning.
Why HP? Openness is the big one. "HP's programme represents a lot of what Telefonica is looking for" as it sees virtualisation as a way of avoiding vendor lock-in, says Saar.
