Angela Whiteford, VP Product Management and Marketing, Affirmed Networks

Angela explains the advantages of Affirmed’s ‘5G-ready’ decomposed 4G network approach. Breaking the 4G network into pieces conceptually, she says, means you can have a centralised control plane and a distributed user plane. That means 5G-style things, like network slicing, can be in initiated in 4G so that time-critical applications can move to the edge to enhance latency.
