  • Technology-independent digital solutions "Made in Germany"

T-Systems is forming a new integrated unit in Germany to provide digital solutions and services. The new portfolio unit with 4,800 employees combines the competencies of three existing units: the management and technology consultancy Detecon, the digital services provider T-Systems Multimedia Solutions and the digital areas of T-Systems Global Systems Integration. In 2017, the three business units implemented a total of more than 4,000 digitization projects.

The offering is part of T-Systems' portfolio strategy, presented by the new CEO Adel Al-Saleh today at the start of the Hannover Messe. The aim is to offer customers digitization solutions for company-specific requirements. The full spectrum ranges from consulting and co-innovation to the development of technical solutions, their complete integration and operation. The peculiarity: Flexible and agile teams that work together on an interdisciplinary basis are tailored to each client situation. More than 700 management consultants and digitization experts, more than 800 industry-specific consultants and specialists, around 700 digital platform and architecture experts, over 500 DevOps specialists and around 300 data analysts and big data experts are available.

New methods and strong partners

The new portfolio unit uses prototyping and agile methods such as DevOps, design- and data-thinking. T-Systems' international partner network, including Salesforce, SAP, and Microsoft, is a particular advantage for clients. As part of Deutsche Telekom, the new digital services provider is the only German supplier that can combine cloud, IoT, security and networks such as 5G or NB-IoT with consulting and integration for digital transformation.

"One in three companies wants to open up new business opportunities with digitization," quotes Peter Lorenz, Senior Vice President T-Systems Global Systems Integration, a current T-Systems study. Lorenz leads the set-up of the new provider. "There's more involved here than technology," he says. His team sees itself as a partner for large corporations and medium-sized companies. "Large companies have to become very fast and agile, medium-sized businesses are looking for easy access to digitization and a broad range of experience," says Lorenz. "As Germany's largest digital provider, we are now bringing both together – Made in Germany".

"The number of digital projects in companies is constantly increasing and so are the requirements. At the same time, digital experts are becoming increasingly difficult to find. With 4,800 digital experts, we are bundling our power for digital client projects of all sizes," says Peter Klingenburg, Managing Director of T-Systems Multimedia Solutions.

"Consulting requires more and more understanding of technology, which Detecon has been using since the beginnings of digitization more than 40 years ago. In digital consulting, we want to support our clients from innovation through prototyping to implementation - until things really work," says Heinrich Arnold, Managing Director of Detecon. Co-innovation approaches, partnerships and ecosystems as well as sound technological expertise are indispensable.
