The world's most respected experts in the fields of space services and satellite communications will come together 29-31 May in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina for the ITU International Satellite Symposium 2017. They will present and discuss the latest advances in satellite communications, space missions and monitoring, international regulations, and techniques to combat harmful interference to space. The event is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Argentina's Ministry of Communications through its Secretary of Information and Communication Technologies, and will take place at the Cacique Inacayal Hotel.

The meeting will focus on the important issues of space development and sustainability in the Americas region. A diverse range of space stakeholders is confirmed to be participating, including government representatives, regulators, satellite operators and satellite industry representatives.

The symposium will start with two high-level panels dedicated to international regulations, satellite markets and technology trends to be presented by key experts from the Americas region. Innovative solutions, high throughput satellites, mobility, broadcasting, NGSO mega constellations, ITU World Radio Conference 2019, and satellite projects in the Americas region are some of the topics to be addressed by more than 30 distinguished speakers from the space sector during this three-day global event.

The symposium will conclude with field visits on 31 May to the INVAP and CEATSA satellite manufacturing and testing facilities in San Carlos de Bariloche, and satellite operator ARSAT's earth station and data centre in Buenos Aires.
