On the 9th and 10th November, the international industrial forum "Fokus Fuseco Forum 2017" was held in Berlin at the Fraunhofer FOKUS premises.

This forum takes place annually and its main purpose is to promote the discussion of major technological advances related to the telecommunications industry among key global stakeholders.

This year the discussion focused on virtualization (NFV - Network Functions Virtualization) and on programmability (SDN - Software Defined Networks) of telecommunication networks, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence techniques in operations support systems in operational management.

Altice Labs was one of the forum's guests to present its vision on the evolution of operations support systems (OSS) to integrate artificial intelligence techniques.

Pedro Neves, from Technological Coordination and Innovation direction, represented the company and made a presentation on "The Evolution Towards an Autonomic Management Paradigm in 5G Networks - Self-Protection Use-Case Example", in which he described and demonstrated the use of machine-learning techniques in OSS, namely in Altice Labs’ Service Assurance (ALTAIA) and Service Orchestration (NA) solutions.
