Biography 

Caroline Y. Chan is vice president in the Network and Edge Group and general manager of the group’s Network Business Incubator Division at Intel Corporation. She is responsible for driving new services running across the network infrastructure, working closely with network service cloud service providers and enterprises. Chan and her team will lead pathfinding of advanced technology solutions that are enabled and accelerated by 5G capabilities such as AI, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Data Analytics, Immersive Media, Cloud gaming, and others.

Chan was previously VP and GM of Intel 5G Infrastructure Division and had overall responsibility for Intel’s global network infrastructure strategy and solution development related to 5th-generation wireless technology. Chan and her team identified and developed use cases that incorporate the Internet of Things, innovation in wireless technologies and deployment models, such as mobile edge computing and alternative spectrums that will enable new service providers and enterprise networks.

Since joining Intel in 2009, Chan has worked closely with telecommunications vendors, operators and application developers to advance strategy and marketing in virtual RAN, mini Cloud-RAN and mobile edge computing technologies. Before leading the 5G infrastructure division, she spent six years as director of wireless technology and strategy. In that position, Chan oversaw server CPU extension into Intel’s wireless infrastructure business, a role that encompassed investment strategy, CPU adoption and modification, marketing, and business development.

Before joining Intel, Chan had a 15-year career at Nortel Networks Corp., culminating in her role as director of 4G wireless product management.

She serves as an independent director on EnerSys Inc. (NYSE: ENS) board. In addition, Chan serves on the board of the Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) and CBRS Alliance. She is also an advisory board member for Advisory Council for Rural Edge Solutions (ACRES) and 5G Open Innovation (5GOI) Lab. Her contributions in the area of virtualized wireless radio access networks earned Chan an Intel Achievement Award in 2016. Chan was elected to be among the top 25 movers and shakers in the telecom industry 2018 by Fierce Telecom and among the top 5G 100 most influential individuals charting the course for the next generation of global communications in 2020 by Light Reading.

 

Chan holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, respectively

Ed Chao

CEO, Polte

Biography 

As CEO of Polte, Chao is leading the charge to position Polte as the premier provider of global, 4G/5G cellular location technology. Chao brings 26 years of leadership experience, serving as an executive for companies such as Bell Labs, MetroPCS, T-Mobile and with the U.S. Digital Service at the White House. Chao holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University, a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech, and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Rutgers University.

Ray Dolan

Chairman and CEO, Cohere

Biography 

Raymond (Ray) Dolan joined the Cohere Technologies Board of Directors in July, 2018 and later took the helm as CEO in October 2018. Mr. Dolan brings three decades of wireless industry experiences to Cohere which include extensive work in technology development, field operations, marketing and corporate management. Previously, Mr. Dolan served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Flarion Technologies, a company he co-founded in 2000 along with Dr. Rajiv Laroia. Flarion pioneered the development of FLASH-OFDM for cellular which became the foundation of 4G as it is known today. Qualcomm acquired Flarion in 2006. Prior to leading Flarion, Mr. Dolan held executive positions at BellAtlantic/NYNEX Mobile (now Verizon). Mr. Dolan began his career in the telecommunications industry at PacTel Cellular in Network Operations. Mr. Dolan was deeply involved in the development of IS-95A (CDMA) while Director of Technology for NYNEX Mobile in the early 1990’s. Before joining the wireless industry in 1986, Mr. Dolan served as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps where he served for more than seven years as a Tactical Jet Pilot. Mr. Dolan has been an Independent Director of American Tower Corporation since 2003, and served as a Director of NII Holdings Inc. from 2008 to 2012. Mr. Dolan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

RaviKanth Pasumarthy

Vice-President (Technology), Capgemini Engineering

Biography 

Ravi has experience in successful conceptualization, architecture, design to delivery of Wireless Solutions. His area of expertise involves Solution engineering, System architecture and realization for 4G/5G systems with focus on realization of CU-RU 5G RAN architecture, Virtualized-RAN solutions and application of AI/ML concepts in RAN. He is leading O-RAN related architecture and solution initiatives at Capgemini Engineering and works closely with VMware ,Intel and other partners for the realization of O-RAN use-cases based on Capgemini Engineering CU/DU, Intel FlexRAN PHY and VMware dRIC and infrastructure solutions.
