KPN transfers the activities of IPT Medical Services to Ksyos

Via KPN

Apr 16, 2019

KPN transfers the activities of IPT Medical Services to telemedical center Ksyos. As part of KPN Health, IPT Medical Services has developed in recent years into a company that provides remote care services to around 750 family doctors. The diagnostic service provider thereby makes a substantial contribution to the digitization of the Dutch healthcare system.

This transaction is in line with the focus that KPN Health is putting on providing secure connections and data interchange in the care sector. The activities of IPT Medical Services as a Zelfstandig Behandel Centrum (independent treatment center) are therefore being transferred to Ksyos, a specialist healthcare facility with which KPN has been working for many years.

Continuity

For KPN, the continuity and quality of the services were important prerequisites in the choice of acquisition party. Every year, Ksyos provides healthcare services using modern technology to more than 250,000 patients. Ksyos will continue to act as a partner and to make use of the secure network of KPN Health.

'KPN Health collaborates with a lot of parties in healthcare, from university medical centers and individual family doctors to startups in the digital healthcare sector,' says Kees Donkervoort, director of KPN Health. 'The position to provide secure connections and data interchange in which we work successfully with other parties in healthcare suits us better than offering diagnostic services ourselves. Hiving off IPT Medical Services is therefore a logical step.'

'Ksyos and KPN Health have been partners in digital care for a long time,' says Leonard Witkamp, director of Ksyos. 'This enables us to help improve healthcare provision in the Netherlands. We are happy that we can pursue the IPT activities of KPN Health, in the interest of family doctors and of patients.'

Secure information interchange

KPN Health provides secure communications between care providers and healthcare facilities. Together with its partners, it plays an active role in helping to provide the right care at the right place and assists the healthcare sector with the opportunities that digitization can offer.

The acquisition of the IPT activities by Ksyos has been submitted to the Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (Dutch Healthcare Authority) for its approval. The family doctors concerned have been informed. Ksyos and KPN will jointly ensure a smooth transfer of activities so that patients are not inconvenienced in any way.
