H2020 "Terranova" project featured in the European Commission

The successful evaluation of the first year of the TERRANOVA project by the European Commission was held in Brussels on the 17th and 18th September.

This is a 3 year project of the European Commission's "Horizon 2020" package and aims to study the radio transmission technology (in the THz band) and its interconnection to optical networks in "Beyond 5G" scenarios, the design and development of an opto-electric system to transport information at speeds up to 500Gbps.

In addition to Altice Labs (responsible for the "Network Architecture" and "System Requirements" components), the consortium comprises the University of Piraeus Research Center (Greece), Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (Germany), Intracom Telecom (Greece), the University of Oulu (Finland), JCP-Connect (France) and PICAdvanced (Portugal).
