- Operators can now experience its disaggregated multiservice edge software first-hand at no cost
Fremont, California – RtBrick today announced the launch of a new virtual machine (VM) image that allows prospective customers to try its disaggregated routing software for free in a virtualized form factor. With this new offering, network operators and engineers can evaluate RtBrick’s software, understand its functionality, and experience its command-line interfaces (CLIs) and APIs, without needing to purchase a physical open switch.
Historically, evaluating routing software has required access to specialized hardware, adding significant cost, complexity and delays early in the evaluation process. RtBrick’s new VM-based trial software removes this barrier, making it easier for operators to get hands-on experience with the software.
The free VM capability is designed to closely mirror real-world deployments, giving users a practical way to explore RtBrick’s architecture, automation capabilities, and operational workflows in their own network environment. By enabling early-stage testing, RtBrick aims to accelerate proof-of-concept timelines and help customers make more informed decisions about deploying disaggregated routing solutions.
“We know from our recent survey of telecom decision makers that network disaggregation is on many operators’ agendas, but they’re stuck in the exploration phase due to transformation complexity, and skills gaps,” said Hannes Gredler, CTO and Founder at RtBrick. “Instead of accepting this, we’re set on openness, usability, and lowering the barriers to innovation in modern IP networks. Making our software available in this virtualized form factor will make it dramatically simpler for engineers and network teams to evaluate disaggregated software, learn how it works, and see the agility and scalability it can provide first-hand.”
