XL Indonesia has faith in M2M

Feb 6, 2013

Ericsson is to provide connectivity with its Device Connection Platform (DCP), delivered as a service, and XL will develop M2M products for enterprises, the companies say.

Indonesia is a highly penetrated mobile market (120 per cent SIM card penetration according to the stats) and the mobile industry there is probably more keen than most to quickly build new revenues - M2M is naturally one of the target areas.

The Ericsson platform will give XL the ability to push out more - and more cost-effective - enterprise M2M services. It currently supports a range of smart metering, point of sale, fleet management, logistics, mobile surveillance and so on, and is keen to develop more.
