Turkcell Group and Huawei signed a MoU to activate the customer business partnership program

Via Huawei Corporate News

Aug 15, 2016

Shenzhen, China, August 15, 2016: Huawei and Turkcell Group, leading 4.5G operator in Turkey, had announced on June 25, 2016 that they have entered into a new level of strategic partnership. Both companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to activate the Customer Business Partnership Program (CBPP). The MoU was signed at Huawei HQ by Mr. Kaan T., Turkcell CEO, and Mr. Liu Hongyun, Huawei CA&C Regional President.

Both operators and vendors continue to hunt for innovative business models and disruptive technologies to maintain their market leadership. Together, Turkcell Group and Huawei recognized the challenges ahead as well as the opportunities. Mobile devices and related ultra broadband connectivity continue to be more and more embedded in the fabric of society today and they are keys in driving the momentum around some key trends such as video streaming, Internet of Things (IoT), and mobile payments.

As Turkcell Group is moving steadily towards the 5G era and continue its digital transformation journey, the Huawei CBPP program will support maximizing the benefits of the exiting 4.5G investment and pave the way towards profitable 5G business.

“At Turkcell, we always invest in cutting edge technologies. The world we live in is changing rapidly and we focus on strengthening Turkey’s software and hardware research and development capacity for future technologies. At this point Turkcell’s strongest 4.5G network gives us a chance to provide better services to our customers. It also provides an opportunity to entrepreneurs for developing new applications and services and driving our county to new levels of growth and development. We are pleased to note that our 4.5G investments, including spectrum, position Turkcell well to move towards 5G. With this CBPP MoU, Turkcell and Huawei further entrench their ongoing 5G R&D cooperation in this transitional phase. The global 5G discussion is increasingly evolving around ecosystem partnerships, and we are looking forward to further contributing to this evolution which we are already a part of.” said Mr. Kaan T., Turkcell CEO.

“The program target is to enhance key position business dialogue capabilities and explore new business domains. This CBPP program is designed to match our customer’s strategic objectives and support their success in achieving best business results both on the short and long terms.” said Mr. Liuhongyun, Huawei CA&C Regional President.
