United for the Digital Home: Swisscom joins Orange and Etisalat within SoftAtHome

Paris, Thursday, October 29, 2015

Orange today announced Swisscom acquired shares of SoftAtHome’s capital. This operation is part of SoftAtHome’s “Club of Operators” strategic initiative which aims to accelerate the development of digital home solutions for the future by sharing best practices with other market players and collaborating to ensure wide-spread deployment of the best connected-home services through SoftAtHome’s software platform. Some years ago, the multinational UAE-based operator Etisalat already became a shareholder of SoftAtHome.

SoftAtHome is a fast-growing software company, delivering leading connectivity, as well as Pay TV and digital services for Operator devices in the home. By driving innovation, SoftAtHome is regularly recognized by industry awards. Its solutions are already deployed in over 25 million homes in more than 15 countries in multiple broadband and broadcast systems for major operators such as Orange, Etisalat, Swisscom and Boxer.

Through its software products, SoftAtHome empowers operators by providing outstanding services such as Ultra High Definition TV, the transition to the Internet of Things and many of the most advanced services linked to enriched connectivity and security.

“Orange is pleased to welcome Swisscom into its Club of Operators. We look forward to sharing know-how, insights and solutions in the Digital Home market through collaboration on the SoftAtHome platform. Our objective is to extend SoftAtHome’s leadership by developing further strategic agreements with other operators,” declared Mari-Noëlle Jégo-Laveissière, Senior Executive Vice President for Innovation, Marketing and Technologies at Orange and Chairman of SoftAtHome’s Board of Directors.

“SoftAtHome is an enabler of Orange’s new strategic plan “Essentials2020” that puts customers’ needs at the heart of our strategy and provides them with an unmatched service experience and the best and most up-to-date enriched connectivity solutions, particularly in Internet of Things,” she said.
