Regarding the closing of the European Commission's investigation into the optical disc drive business

14 October 2015

On 24 July 2012, the European Commission announced that it had informed thirteen companies supplying optical disk drives in the European Economic Area of its preliminary view that they may have infringed EU antitrust rules. NEC Corporation was one of the entities that received the allegations. NEC Corporation has throughout the European Commission investigation strongly contested the existence of any evidence implicating it in an antitrust infringement. The European Commission has recently informed NEC Corporation that it does not intend to pursue its investigation against NEC Corporation, and as a result its case against NEC Corporation will be closed. NEC welcomes this decision, which fully supports the fact that there is no evidence implicating NEC Corporation in such an infringement.
