29 June 2016: Inmarsat was pleased to welcome the Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL, Mr Anupam Shrivastava, to its City Road headquarters in London.
Inmarsat strategic partner BSNL is one of the largest and leading public sector organisations in India, providing a comprehensive range of telecoms services.
BSNL has been awarded a licence to provide satellite services using Inmarsat satellite communications in India, which will support the increased demand for a broad range of connectivity needs across the continent.
Digital India
Mr Shrivastava was greeted by Inmarsat CEO Rupert Pearce, Inmarsat COO Ruy Pinto, Inmarsat Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Alison Horrocks, Inmarsat President, Global Government, Andy Start and recently appointed Inmarsat India Managing Director, Gautam Sharma.
The meeting provided further opportunity to discuss BSNL’s vision to enable connectivity solutions across India and the important role Inmarsat’s satellite communication services can play in supporting the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi’s strategy for a Digital India.

A dedicated Inmarsat team is currently working on the implementation of a new GSPS gateway to operate in India.
