Miami – BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB), a global leader in mobile communications, revealed today that companies in Latin America and The Caribbean trust BES®12: a multi-OS EMM solution by BlackBerry for their growing IT mobility needs. The Company reported that in the first quarter of fiscal year 2016 alone, more than 150 companies in this region either invested in BES12 or tested BES12 or BES12 Cloud*.

“The number of mobile professionals in Latin America is expected to grow quickly to 120 million by the end of 2015. By 2018, 50% of the labor force will be mobile in the region. The need for organizations of all sizes and industries to deploy multiple devices and operating systems in a secure environment is increasing every day,” said Diego Anesini, Research Director, IDC Latin America.

BES12 is the foundation for BlackBerry’s extensive portfolio of enterprise security, productivity, and communication and collaboration services that helps organizations securely connect employees with each other and with the corporate information and machines that are required to get their jobs done. It provides expanded EMM capabilities that can manage any mobile deployment model such as BYOD, Corporate Owned Personally Enabled (COPE) and Corporate Owned Business Only (COBO), and is built on BlackBerry’s trusted and secure network. The BES12 platform seamlessly supports iOS, Android™, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry smartphones and tablets. BES12 Cloud provides all the core functionality of the on-premise design of BES12, but with greater ease and simplicity to manage and deploy.

Caprecom, Jamaica Defense Force, Fiscalía de Colombia, and HSBC are among the companies who chose BES12 to manage their growing mobility needs.

Many of these customers are also extending their EMM capabilities with integrated Value Added Solutions from BlackBerry, including BBMTM Meetings and BBM™ Protected, and identity and access management solutions such as VPN Authentication by BlackBerry®, and Enterprise Identity by BlackBerry®.

“As companies expand in major urban areas in Latin America and The Caribbean, they are reevaluating their enterprise mobility strategies to cope with corporate security concerns,” said Joao Stricker, Managing Director, LATAM Enterprise at BlackBerry. “BlackBerry security is the best in the mobile industry. In addition to offering BES12 to our corporate clients for proven security and privacy capabilities, we’re bringing them services, beyond EMM, to enable them to solve real security and productivity challenges associated with the use of mobile technology across their enterprise.”
