Commissioner Pai Announces New Staff Appointment

FCC COMMISSIONER AJIT PAI ANNOUNCES NEW STAFF APPOINTMENT

WASHINGTON, August 5, 2015.—FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai today announced the appointment of Alison Nemeth as his Interim Legal Advisor for media issues. Chief of Staff Matthew Berry, who currently handles media issues, will assume the wireline portfolio while Nick Degani, Wireline Legal Advisor, is out of the office on paternity leave.

Alison joins Commissioner Pai’s office on detail from the Video Division of the Commission’s Media Bureau. An Honors Attorney, she has worked on a variety of legal and policy issues relating to broadcast television, including licensing, transactions, and the upcoming Incentive Auction. Previously, Alison worked as a law clerk in Commissioner Pai’s Office.

“I am delighted that Alison has agreed to rejoin our office. She excelled during her prior stint with us, and I look forward to benefiting from her expertise in the weeks ahead,” said Commissioner Pai. Alison received her J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and obtained a certificate from its Institute for Communications Law Studies. During law school, Alison gained experience interning for PCIA—The Wireless Infrastructure Association, the FCC’s Office of General Counsel, Comcast Corporation, and Verizon. Alison received her undergraduate degree from Lafayette College.
