CNET en Español Names Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure Top 20 Most Influential Latinos in Technology

Via Sprint Newsroom

Sep 21, 2015

Claure Honored as One of Most Outstanding, Creative and Talented Hispanic Professionals in Technology for Second Consecutive Year

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), September 17, 2015 - CNET en Español announced today that Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure is one of the Top 20 Most Influential Latinos in Technology for 2015. This is the second consecutive year that Claure made the list.

This year's list includes a group of Latino men and women with a wide range of experience and skills that are leading teams in high-profile companies in Silicon Valley and beyond.

“Being chosen for this year’s list is a great honor for me,” Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure said. “My hope is that more and more Hispanics will step up to serve as leaders in technology and pave the way for future generations to pursue big opportunities like the one I have to transform Sprint.”

According to CNET en Español, this year’s list includes technology professionals who meet the following criteria: origin (Spain or Latin America, or Hispanics working in the U.S.); working in the U.S. or at a company with operations in the country; and those who are in senior positions and involved in decision-making processes or play key creative roles.

CNET en Español established a voting process to ensure the list included diverse origins and unique stories and experiences that define the honorees.

"We look for professionals who can represent the Latino community based on their accomplishments and the impact they have on the tech industry,” said Gabriel Sama, managing editor of CNET en Español. “All the people in our 2015 list are leaders in their field who want to advance the presence and influence of Latinos in the tech industry.”

This is the third year that CNET en Español assembled its annual list of top Latinos working in the technology industry.

The list was released today to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, and to mark the second anniversary of CNET en Español, which launched nearly one year ago.

CNET en Español is the Spanish-language sister site of CNET, one of the leading publishers of technology and consumer electronics news.
