Chip Shot: Intel Accelerates Cloud Adoption with Cisco, Dell and Red Hat

At the Red Hat Summit, Intel and Red Hat announced extensions to the On-Ramp to Enterprise OpenStack program collaboration designed to accelerate the adoption of OpenStack in the enterprise. Industry leaders Cisco and Dell have also joined the program to bring solutions to the market based on the collaboration. The expanded program will focus on integrating enterprise-class features that deliver high-availability and resiliency to Open Stack workloads and services, and features that simplify ease the deployment and allow for rolling upgrade of OpenStack for zero downtime. Speaking at the event, Doug Fisher, senior vice president and general manager of the Software and Services Group at Intel, shared his insights on the transformation of software defined infrastructure (SDI) and how contributions to the OpenStack community will support the modern data center.
