As wireless connectivity continues to expand into all parts of our lives, AT&T* and eDevice are making it easier than ever to mobilize medical equipment for patients.

eDevice selected AT&T to provide highly-secure connectivity to WireX, an analog-to-wireless converter. WireX enables equipment with built-in analog modems to connect to cellular networks—easily and cost-effectively. No changes to the existing legacy device are required. Customers only need to disconnect the phone cable from the wall and plug it into the WireX dial-up connector. The data previously transferred over the phone line is now automatically transmitted over the cellular data network.

“WireX can lower prices by more than 50 percent when replacing a dedicated phone line,” said Marc Berrebi, Co-Founder, eDevice. “We're eager to work with AT&T to help users transition to newer technology—quickly and efficiently. “

“Cellular connectivity represents an opportunity for healthcare institutions to lower costs both for patients and caregivers, while helping to improve overall health outcomes,” said Joe Mosele, vice president, IoT Solutions, AT&T. “With WireX, users of legacy medical equipment can now enjoy the advantages of cellular connectivity without incurring service disruption or great expense. We’re excited to work with eDevice to connect this innovative solution.”
