Paris, June 08, 2015

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) is enabling Danish communications solutions and pay TV provider, TDC, to expand its delivery of high-quality IP-based TV services outside of Denmark.

Applying its expertise in IP Video systems integration, Alcatel-Lucent is extending TDC’s existing Mediaroom platform into Norway, allowing TDC to quickly make new services available to customers of Norwegian Internet Service Provider, NextGenTel.

TDC will be able to extend its wholesale business into other markets in the future to meet growing demands for video. Video is the key driver of broadband consumption globally. ABI Research predicts that the number of pay TV subscribers will exceed 1.1 billion by 2019, with IPTV accounting for 15% .

Alcatel-Lucent is the sole supplier of IPTV services for TDC. The companies have worked together for almost a decade leveraging Alcatel-Lucent’s systems integration expertise and the Mediaroom platform.
