AirAsia signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Inmarsat to upgrade to GX Aviation inflight Wi-Fi

04 April 2017: AirAsia, Asia’s leading low cost airline, today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Inmarsat to install GX Aviation across the group’s Airbus A320 and A330 fleets.

Subject to final agreement and contract, AirAsia has stated their intention to commence installation of GX Aviation avionics in 2017 with the launch of the service to their passengers the following year.

AirAsia, which was named the world’s best low cost carrier for the eighth successive year in 2016, is a long-term Inmarsat customer and already deploys Inmarsat’s SwiftBroadband solution.
