Digital services for decarbonisation
Challenges and Opportunities Roundtable
If the world wants to stabilize climate change, and meet the UN’s target of holding average temperatures to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels, then we are going to have to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent before the end of this decade and reach net zero before 2050. Tall order. But can Digitalization help? Reports suggest it has the potential to reduce global emissions by up to 15 per cent by 2030. An ideal opportunity for telcos to take the lead then?
