NFV PoC #36 (Orchestrated Assurance enabled by NFV) - ETSI
This PoC is supported by Orange and combines technology from Cisco, Intel, Netrounds and Telco Systems. The PoC demonstrates the concept of "orchestrated assurance", which means that the service orchestrator not only sets up the service end-to-end, but also deploys a tightly coupled and service-specific testing and assurance solution. This provides the orchestrator with real-time feedback of customer experience and network performance for each specific delivery, so that the orchestrator can take necessary actions needed to secure high customer satisfaction.
This is a major improvement from today’s standard practice in which service fulfillment and assurance are separate processes with no sharing of data or coordination.
Another important goal is to show that this capability can be done without the communication service provider undertaking a massive software project. In order to provide this agility, the PoC will demonstrate integrated orchestration and assurance using the YANG, a data modeling language for the NETCONF network configuration protocol.
