ZTE Corporation ((0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile Internet, today demonstrated a series of diversified 5G terminal devices including the 5G Smartphone, 5G Indoor Router, 5G Outdoor Router, 5G Mobile Wi-Fi Router, 5G Ethernet Box and 5G Module for the first time at MWC Shanghai 2019. These products cover industry application scenarios, including smart grid, intelligent manufacturing, live broadcasting and more, and cover individual application scenarios, including personal hotspots and home broadband.
Moreover, ZTE will show an intelligent connected future by demonstrating authentic, diverse application scenarios with the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G and the ZTE 5G Indoor Router MC801 under a live 5G network at MWC Shanghai 2019.
Following the issuance of 5G licenses, China will enter its first year of 5G and 5G has entered a critical period of commercial deployments on a global scale. As a pioneer, ZTE has been announced 5G terminal cooperation with more than 20 global carriers.
The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G was announced in China, Germany, UAE, Finland and Austria in the first half of 2019. It has been available in Finland in cooperation with Elisa and in the UAE in cooperation with Du and Etisalat.
“The issuance of 5G licenses in China is the starting gun for the commercial deployment of 5G in the domestic market. The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G is proceeding after the indispensable, national approval in China and is expected to be available in July. Consumers will be able to purchase this 5G flagship smartphone for the very first time”, said Xu Feng, Senior Vice President at ZTE Corporation and President of Mobile Device Division. “ZTE is the first to complete an end-to-end network connection with the three major carriers in China. ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G is also recognized as the first 5G flagship smartphone to reach peak download data rate of 2Gbps. ”
At MWC Shanghai 2019, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G and the ZTE 5G Indoor Router MC801 enables consumers to acquire incredible 5G experiences including AR, cloud gaming, 4K video and ultra-fast speeds via 5G, as well as 5G+8K extremely clear live broadcast, all-round 5G video analysis, 5G patrol robot, cloud XR remote cooperation, Class VR (education) and more.
ZTE also displayed its second-generation 5G Indoor Router MC801A, with peak download data rate 5.36Gbps which could be achieved via the EN-DC (E-UTRA/NR Dual Connectivity) technology under the Sub 6GHz network.
At the ZTE booth, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G can be connected to nreal light glasses via a USB Type-C cable, leading users into an immersive 5G environment. The “Christmas Eve” holographic MV integrates a stage performance into a real environment around consumers. Museum collections and artifacts are recreated in stunning detail by using environment perception and 3D image reconstruction technology. “Individuals, Vehicles, Homes” Three Vertical Scenarios Deployment, Upgrading Mobile Internet Experiences ZTE is deploying its IoT portfolio designed for three vertical categories: Individuals, Vehicles and Homes. The portfolio provides a smarter life and meets consumers’ requirements for personal safety, smart home, smart travel by providing vehicle and asset tracking, voice assistants, mesh routers, T-Box, C-V2X (cellular vehicle-to-everything) car networking solutions and so on.
The Mesh Router MF18A and Y2000 RSU are the latest products to debut at MWC Shanghai 2019. Compared with traditional routers and Wi-Fi amplifiers, the ZTE Mesh Router MF18A covers a wider range and promises higher speeds, which easily solves Wi-Fi networking problems in large-scale indoor environments. The Y2000 RSU implements dynamic real-time information exchange and the interaction of vehicles, improving the safety and traffic efficiency, and facilitating the vehicle-road coordination.
Moreover, ZTE will carry out 5G remote driving and C-V2X-based vehicle-road coordination scenario demonstrations at its Shanghai R&D Center during MWC Shanghai 2019. Early in 2018, ZTE released the C-V2X module ZM8350 using the Qualcomm® 9150 C-V2X chipset, which supports V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle), V2I (vehicle-to-infrastructure) and V2P (vehicle-to-pedestrian) in the 5.9GHz intelligent transportation system band. It is one of the key technologies to realize autonomous driving and the vehicle-road coordination.
ZTE is collaborating with leading partners to explore innovative 5G application scenarios. ZTE has established strategic partnerships with nearly 200 partners, boosting the digital transformation, covering Industrial Internet, IoV, Internet of Energy, education, healthcare and other fields. To date, ZTE has implemented 5G applications in over 15 segments of vertical industries with carriers and partners.
In terms of vehicle networking, ZTE has realized mass production and delivery of pre-installed 4G car gauge modules and T-Box products in China and abroad. ZTE is also organizing tests for the C-V2X-based RSU and OBU products. In October 2019, ZTE will cooperate with partners in the V2X interconnection application demonstration, in a bid to boost the development of autonomous driving and vehicle-road coordination, and to promote the large-scale application deployment of the C-V2X industry.
In the future, ZTE will actively participate in the construction of the new 5G ecosystem in cooperation with nreal, Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and Netease AR, aiming to enhance a person’s digital life by providing consumers with multi-screen sharing, large-screen expansion, holographic viewing and other practical functions.
