VF Ukraine secures 4G license

Moscow, Russian Federation – MTS PJSC (“MTS” – NYSE: MBT; MOEX: MTSS), the leading telecommunications provider in Russia and the CIS, announces that VF Ukraine PrJSC, the Company's majority-owned subsidiary, which serves the Ukraine market and operates as Vodafone Ukraine, secured a 4G license in the 2510-2520 / 2630-2640 MHz band as the result of a national auction. The cost of the license is UAH 631mln.

"Our strategic goal was to obtain the cleanest available band, which does not conflict with other users, including both civilian and military entities. We are pleased with the auction results - we received a 10 MHz band to for the network construction in all regional centers, including Zaporozhye and Zhytomyr, which have restrictions in other lots,” commented Olga Ustinova, General Director of Vodafone Ukraine.

From a technical perspective, Vodafone Ukraine is ready to launch the network in this band. The first 4G launch in Ukraine’s largest cities could take place by the end of March, provided Vodafone Ukraine receives the license. The operator will be further deploy full geographical coverage in Ukraine following the receipt of its licenses in the 1800 MHz band in July 2018.
