The mobile enterprise business applications market will Grow to $128.2 billion by 2022

Via Strategy Analytics Press Releases

Nov 8, 2016

The Growth of Cellular Networks, Proliferation of Mobile Devices, and Need to Stay Connected are the Key Drivers

Boston, MA - November 8, 2016 - Strategy Analytics expects continued growth in the mobile enterprise business software market, according to several new reports: “Global Mobile Enterprise Business Applications Revenue Forecast 2016-2022” and “Global Mobile Enterprise Business Applications User Forecast, 2016-2022.” The reports show that the mobile enterprise business applications market will reach almost $74 billion in 2016 and grow to $128 billion by 2022, as the global mobile workforce increases from 1.45 billion in 2016 to 1.87 billion in 2022. The expansion of 4G and the near ubiquity of Wi-Fi networks provide the bandwidth needed for accessing business applications on mobile devices. In addition, enterprise mobile app stores make it easier than ever for workers to download mobile applications. Companies are rolling out new business applications to help deal with changing customer, employee and partner expectations as employees become more mobile.

According to Gina Luk, Senior Analyst and author of the Strategy Analytics Mobile Workforce Strategies (MWS) reports,

“Collaboration/productivity applications such as corporate email, messaging and conferencing have the highest mobile use overall among mobile workers, while the CRM category has the second highest use overall among mobile workers and they are primarily relevant to those workers focused on sales and field service activities, which tend to be well represented in the mobile workforce, but the ERP category has the lowest use overall among mobile workers. This is because they are primarily relevant to only those workers who are focused on these business activities which tend to be centered in corporate headquarters and other fixed locations such as production facilities.”

“In addition, the explosion of cloud services, and the emergence of data-as-a-service offer significant new opportunities for enterprise app development and deployments. Furthermore, mobile access to applications is becoming more critical in regions such as Asia Pacific, with large and growing mobile workforces”, added Andrew Brown, Executive Director of Enterprise Research at Strategy Analytics.
