How does a CSP ensure full lifecycle management of open infrastructure? The answer may lie with Airship. During the OpenStack Summit in Berlin, AT&T presented progress on the Airship lifecycle management project. As he told the audience of developers and service providers, “it takes the guesswork out of cloud deployment and upgrades. Airship is a sister project to Helm, and was created by AT&T, SK Telecom and partners before being released into open source for further development, and a full Release 1.0 is expected within the next six months. It was created very much with CSPs in mind, with the requirement that it must be easy enough to work right of the box and therefore make it suitable for other telcos.
