Sharalike, an American start-up specialising in automatically creating animations, launches its mobile and web service in France with Orange Cloud

Via Orange

Nov 24, 2015

Paris, Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Sharalike, a start-up based in Cambridge in the United States and founded by two French entrepreneurs, is an online service making it easy to organise your photos and videos and turn them into original animations. Winner of Orange Fab France season 4, Sharalike is announcing its partnership with Orange. The start-up also won the America prize at the DigiWorld Summit 2015.

With the partnership signed between Orange and Sharalike, Orange Cloud users can now access the photos stored in their Cloud space directly via Sharalike. Sharalike uses a state-of-the-art proprietary technological solution with a simple and intuitive interface to automatically sort your most recent photos as soon as you launch the application, choose the best ones and create animated montages mixing photos, videos, and music (SmartShow). Users can then share them privately or publicly by email, SMS, or on social networks. Sharalike also lets you manually create animated slideshows to enhance your best moments using an iPhone or the web interface.

Furthermore, thanks to a partnership with Facebook, SmartShows created using Sharalike are available directly in the Facebook timeline (newsfeed) for greater interaction.

The mobile application, launched in February 2015, has already been downloaded 1 million times on iOS (source : iTunes connect) and 21 million photos have been transformed into SmartShows and shared (source Sharalike). Sharalike hopes to have 10 million users in the coming year. This new partnership with Orange is part of Sharalike's joint development strategy with major players in mobile services. Through this partnership with Sharalike, Orange can offer Orange Cloud users a very innovative solution that automatically selects and sorts their photos to create and share slideshows in a simple, quick, and fun way.

"As part of the Orange Cloud development strategy, we are building partnerships with innovative companies to offer our users an even more enhanced service. As soon as we met the Sharalike team, we could see how the service complements Orange Cloud. We built the use cases together to provide Orange Cloud users with a simple and practical solution to view and share their photos. With Sharalike, it has never been easier to view your photos stored on the Cloud and share them with music and animations. This partnership agreement enables us to meet new customer expectations while enabling Sharalike to accelerate its development," declared Patrice Anglard, Partnerships Manager for Orange Cloud.

"Furthermore, thanks to SmartSelection (intelligent selection of photos), Orange Cloud users can save only their best photos to the Orange Cloud in a matter of seconds. Sharalike is becoming the premier online archive for albums of your best photos," added Aymeric Vigneras, CEO of Sharalike.
