Huawei Signs MOU with Slovak Ministry of Education, building a Brighter Talents Future

Via Huawei Corporate News

Nov 25, 2015

Huawei is to provide funding for ten outstanding Slovak students every year to travel to Huawei's headquarters in China for training in ICT technologies. Today's MoU covers the years 2016–2018.

[Beijing, November 25, 2015] Norbert Molnár, secretary general of the Slovak Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport, visited Huawei's Beijing Research Center today as part of his official trip to China on behalf of his minister. The delegation was invited by Chinese Government on the occasion of “China-Central and Eastern Europe Summit “ (China +16) that was held in City of Suzhou, China. H.E Mr. Molnar was met by Pang Jimin, President of Huawei's Global Government Affairs Department, for a discussion of Huawei's work with the Slovak government, including developing ICT infrastructure and providing training. They then signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) concerning Huawei's charitable Seeds for the Future program.

Mr. Molnár said, "Huawei has made a sustained investment in Slovakia, and is now a well-known brand throughout the country. Huawei also fulfills its corporate social responsibilities and is doing great contributions for Slovak society. Its cooperative activities are helping to train our ICT workforce, for which the Ministry of Education would like to express its enormous gratitude. The Slovak government is developing a broader partnership with Huawei to build up the Slovak ICT industry, and to build Slovakia's digital world."

Mr. Pang said, "Huawei has long been committed to developing Slovakia's ICT sector, and is working hard to build a Better Connected Slovakia. At the same time as delivering cutting-edge ICT technologies and services to Slovakia, we are also committed to fostering a skilled local ICT workforce. As a leading global supplier of ICT products and solutions, Huawei will continue to share its global experience in the development of the ICT industry with the Slovak government. We hope to become a strategic partner to the Slovak government in its future ICT planning and development, and will continue to expand our contributions and training programs in Slovakia."

Huawei products and solutions first appeared in the Slovak market in 2006, and now serve millions of Slovak citizens. Huawei is also a long-term investor in and active contributor to the development of Slovakia's ICT workforce. It offers operational and technical training to local SMEs entering the ICT industry, and is also committed to partnering with Slovak universities to foster local innovators and talents.
