Via Huawei Corporate News

Nov 3, 2016

[Wuzhen, China, November 3, 2016] At today's Operations Transformation Forum 2016, Huawei released its new hybrid video solution ‘Huawei Envision’, which assists carriers in developing video as a fundamental service and helps them achieve success.

Song Xiaolong, President of Huawei Digital Service Product Line, releases Huawei Envision

Song Xiaolong, President of Huawei Digital Service Product Line, said,

"The 1.0 era when video services were regarded as value-added services has gone and an increasing number of carriers are taking videos as a fundamental service, changing their development strategies from ‘data network-centric’ to ‘video network-centric’. They are expanding video services from entertainment videos for individual users to real-time communication video and industry videos, such as security protection and city monitoring videos and user generated content videos.

“We call it the video 2.0 era when videos, as a fundamental telecommunications service, create the future of the telecommunications industry", continued Song Xiaolong.

The video 2.0 era features convergence, including Fixed-Mobile convergence and cross boundary convergence. Pay video, communication video, industry video, and user generated content (UGC) video are jointly developed. In the video 2.0 era, technologies such as 4K, UHD, VR, AR, cloudification, and IP-based technologies are quickly developing to improve the user experience. Business models are more diverse, and video service modes including broadband monetization, experience monetization, and content monetization tap into the potential of the video market.

Huawei aims to become the best video solution provider in the video 2.0 era, lead new video ecosystem construction and assist customers in achieving success. With Huawei Envision, Huawei assists customers in developing videos as fundamental services:

  • Envision Video Platform: through a cloudification architecture platform, it helps carriers develop video as a fundamental service with the best user experience, intelligence operation and agile maintenance, and promotes the development of the video ecosystem.
  • Envision Cloud: enables quick service launch and business success through cloud services, and enables video capability openness.
  • Envision Ecosystem: assists customers in constructing the content ecosystem, platform ecosystem, and device ecosystem for video service development based on standards, ecosystem alliances, and open labs. Supports long-term video service long-development by strengthening industry cooperation and developing industry ecosystem jointly with partners.
