For the first time the mobile industry can render its services down to the campus, factory and office environment to support businesses across the full range of their requirements. 5G comes with built-in service levels and bandwidth and latency appropriate for the operational environments of most businesses. Building this more flexible, cellular-based infrastructure requires participation from vendors, CSPPs and Systems Integrators alike but what will be the blend of such players? Indeed, will businesses with their own expertise benefit from the more open telecoms industry and just build their own using available spectrum from regulators or acquire it from licensed players?
