Vincent Danen, Director of Product Security, Red Hat

Security remains a critical issue for digital service providers and their customers. It is a major focal point of Red Hat's work to make Red Hat Enterprise Linux safe to run in production at scale. In version 8, Red Hat has adopted a consistent crypto policy which allows users to choose what level of crypto algorithms and policies they desire, for specific compliance reasons or otherwise. But security is not just about technology. Red Hat employs a global team whose full-time focus is to understand and analyse vulnerabilities - to fix problems, and to understand them well enough to explain to customers how the problems might impact their environment.
