When telecoms moves to the virtual world a single box is often replaced by multiple software vendors. So giving those vendors a forum for sharing experiences and learning from each other becomes seriously important if the resulting system is to efficiently serve the  customer. Red Hat has initiated an Open Telecommunications Executive Council (OTEC) enabling senior executives from telecoms to gather together to discuss the telecom, media and cable business. Here’s how it works and why it's important.
