Now that NFV is a reality and not a pipe dream and the technology's value proposition is becoming much clearer, it is evident that some service providers are moving more quickly to implement the new technologies than are others. The question is whether or not, going forward, this will have a significant impact on the long-term prospects for both NFV and service providers? Meanwhile industry focus is moving on from field testing to early real-life implementations and now there is a practical basis to examine and measure the comparative performance of NFV solutions from different vendors. Let battle commence.
