During the celebrations of its first anniversary, on the 17th February, Altice Labs inaugurated the Future Lab, a laboratory that intends to invest on portuguese technology. This is an open space not only for all Altice Labs employees but also for children, students and society in general for experimentation and prototyping of new ideas in areas as diverse as home automation, electronics, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, IoT, among others.

In this space the collaborators, or " any youngster, student, startup can use our lab to test an idea. We give up the space and some tools that are not always accessible, as well as our knowledge. We believe that good ideas can turn out to be products " said Alcino Lavrador, CEO of Altice Labs. " We want to bring the community in here. People can quickly develop a prototype, this can fail quickly, but it can also be the start of a new business. Innovation is done in collaboration and everyone can have innovative ideas " he added.

" It's the art of innovation. When we learned about the existence of this innovation center, we wanted to concentrate all the innovations of the group in Aveiro and innovate to the world from Portugal. We are very proud because the products are being developed at Altice Labs and we are not only at the forefront of fiber in Portugal but also in many other countries in the world. This makes Altice Labs a valuable asset to the group. We have more than 1000 engineers working in various centers to bring innovation to the group " said Michel Combes, CEO of the Altice group, adding that the laboratory in Aveiro is the guarantee that the international group, present on all continents, continues to function according to a startup logic, " with an entrepreneurial mindset ".

Future Lab will feature mentors from Altice Labs and communities of makers to help " deepen and test prototype ideas, taking advantage of the opportunities created by digital transformation in industry and society ".
