Verizon extends its lead

Customers have another reason to enjoy a superior network. Speed matters. For the second year in a row, Tom’s Guide names Verizon as the fastest wireless network. Verizon had the highest average download speed and fastest app-download time. Testers were dispatched to six cities: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and Houston. Earlier this year, it was announced that Verizon swept RootMetrics awards, winning all six network categories including reliability, data, speed, call, text and overall performance. J.D. Power also ranked Verizon “Highest Wireless Network Quality Performance across the Nation.” This marks another recognition for the network engineered for predictable excellence for our customers: the broadest coverage, the best speeds and unsurpassed reliability.

Rankings based on the RootMetrics US National RootScore Report: 2H 2016. Tested with best commercially available smartphones on four national mobile networks across all available network types.
