- Greek Subsidiary OTE concludes major deal with Coca-Cola HBC
- OTE and T-Systems Hungary to provide data center and disaster recovery services respectively for 28 countries
- Largest outsourcing deal ever on the Greek market and largest private-sector ICT deal for Deutsche Telekom Europe segment
Deutsche Telekom’s Greek subsidiary OTE has won a major contract with Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company AG (HBC), one of the largest bottlers of The Coca-Cola Company’s products worldwide. The deal, worth €43 million, concerns data center outsourcing services from OTE’s data centers. Disaster recovery services are to be provided by T-Systems Hungary. The provision of data services encompasses all transactions and operations, including ordering, CRM, ERP and call center services. The deal covers 28 countries in the EMEA region, where Coca-Cola HBC is present, catering for the needs of more than 589 million consumers. It concerns more than 36,000 employees daily, working in 13 different time-zones from Galway, Ireland in the west, to Petropavlovsk, the easternmost point of Russia.
"We are pleased that our cross-border capabilities enabled us to provide a solution tailored to our customers business needs. This success shows our strong position in Europe in delivering ICT solutions for enterprise customers," says Dr. Elias Drakopoulos, Senior Vice President, responsible for Europe Business Excellence at Deutsche Telekom.
For Deutsche Telekom’s Europe segment, this deal represents the largest ICT deal in the private sector, greatly facilitated through effective cooperation of OTE and T-Systems Hungary. For Coca-Cola HBC, this contract means that, if needed, it can switch from the primary data center in Athens to the disaster recovery site in Budapest, hence offering enhanced risk mitigating possibilities. Additionally, this contract constitutes the largest outsourcing deal ever on the Greek market, positioning Greece as a hub in the ICT business area.
