Telecommunications and Telematic finalists of University of Aveiro visit Altice Labs

On May 25, 29 students of the 3rd and 5th year of the Bachelor and Master in Computer and Telematics Engineering of University of Aveiro visited the facilities of Altice Labs.

In addition to the reception and welcome, Arnaldo Santos made the presentation of Altice Labs highlighting its history, its research projects, development and innovation and its business areas.

This was followed by a presentation about the Internet of Things solutions by Fernando Santiago, supported by a demonstration of Smart2M and managed connectivity.

For the interactive TV area, Vitor Simões Ribeiro and his team presented the services and SmartAL applications as an innovative solution for the area of Digital Home and Herlander Santos and Hugo Dias showed the latest developments of MEO, with special emphasis on MEO 4K and intelligent search of thematic content.

The journey ended with a passage through Network Systems laboratories, with particular regard to the optical laboratory (presented by Victor Marques), development of HW (presented by Sérgio Domingos) and testing equipment (presented by António Melo).

This visit showed a lot of interest from the finalists, with particular emphasis for future internships and innovation projects that are available in the challenges area at the website of Altice Labs.
