Switzerland. Land of high mountains, great chocolate, and Swiss cheese. But state-of-the-art IT? We say: Yes! In a video, Managing Director of T-Systems Schweiz Pierre Klatt explains why Switzerland is the best choice to star as the CeBIT 2016 partner country and how common preconceptions are being turned into unique selling propositions.
"We offer our Swiss customers the whole spectrum of cloud models, from individually customized private clouds to cost-effective public clouds or a combination of both – and highly secure, whichever version they choose," says Klatt. T-Systems stores particularly sensitive customer data in the Swiss economic region at its own twin-core data centers in Switzerland, which comply with the country's strict security policies. For non-critical data, customers can also use offshore cloud services in parallel as a lower-cost solution.
Swiss virtues combined with international power
Alongside SAP solutions, T-Systems Schweiz's partner ecosystem also includes offerings from Microsoft, Cisco, Salesforce, VMWare, EMC, Huawei, SugarCRM, and Informatica. "None of our competitors can provide such a global cloud portfolio both locally and with the flexibility and security that we can offer," says Klatt.
T-Systems recently signed new agreements on cloud services with Swiss customers including aircraft manufacturer Jet Aviation, tobacco supplier Socotab, and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). In addition, T-Systems is the leading provider of state-of-the-art hospital IT across Switzerland. One such example is the video platform that the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary operates for the University Hospital of Basel, which allows diagnoses to be carried out remotely and is used for training medical professionals.
The analysts from Experton have also given T-Systems Schweiz's cloud services a top rating. T-Systems is one of the most heavyweight experts in the field of cloud transformation in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, according to Experton.
Deutsche Telekom continues to expand its market position
In the 2015 financial year, the Group saw revenue increase by 30 percent at group level from cloud solutions. For 2016, the growth focus is on public cloud services – infrastructure, platforms and applications – that can be accessed through the public Internet. DSI Intercloud was launched in December 2015 as the first of three public cloud offerings from Deutsche Telekom. This will be followed by the Open Telekom Cloud in conjunction with Huawei to mark CeBIT 2016. Microsoft solutions from the German cloud will be available in the second half of the year. The Group aims to more than double its cloud revenues overall by the end of 2018.
