Singtel Newsstand offers leading news publications and data-waived usage

Via Singtel

Jul 27, 2016

Singapore, 27 July, 2016: Singtel today launched Singtel Newsstand, an innovative service that offers digital subscriptions to a wide range of leading international and local newspapers and magazines with attractive discounts of up to 20% off regular rates.

Singtel postpaid mobile users will be able to enjoy access to the world’s best news, business and lifestyle coverage and analysis, as well as podcasts and videos, without drawing down their local mobile data allowance.

At launch, Singtel Newsstand will offer the largest local newspaper, The Straits Times, as well as award-winning international titles such as The Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine and Fortune Magazine. Singtel plans to add other premium publications such as The New York Times, The Economist and Financial Times in the coming months.

Ms Diana Chen, Singtel’s Vice President of Mobile Marketing, said: “Increasingly, our customers are turning to their mobile devices for their daily dose of news and current affairs. With Singtel Newsstand, we make premium news content from the world’s top publications more affordable and accessible than ever before. Our customers will be able to enjoy as many articles and videos as they like, knowing that their data usage is waived.”

Susie Pattison, Circulation Director, TIME & Fortune, Asia Pacific, said, “Our partnership with Singtel further strengthens our commitment to deliver TIME content anywhere and everywhere for our readers. Singtel, as a market leader in the telecommunication industry provides a more affordable and accessible channel for more readers to experience TIME Magazine Digital Edition.”

Customers can sign up for the service via www.singtel.com/singtelnewsstand. They will be able to access all subscribed titles via the publishers’ own websites and apps once sign-up is complete, giving them an optimal reading experience.

Singtel postpaid mobile customers will also be able to sign up for print, as well as digital subscriptions for selected titles, and charge them to their monthly bill.

As Singtel Newsstand’s device partner, Samsung will offer a free three months subscription (worth up to S$98) with every 12-month Singtel Newsstand contract. Customers who purchase Samsung mobile phones from Singtel from now until 30 June 2017 are eligible for this promotion.
