Moscow, Russian Federation -01 December 2016 The Russian National Association of Industrial Internet Market Participants (RAII, www.iotunion.ru) and MegaFon have signed a strategic partnership agreement. The parties agreed to work together to foster the formation of an industrial internet market in Russia, create sector standards and documents and also to implement joint industrial internet projects.
RAII President Vitaly Nedelsky commented: “MegaFon is a leader in the Russian telecommunications sector and continues to take a holistic approach to the industrial internet ecosystem and infrastructure. The signing of this agreement will allow RAII to best structure work on the formation of an industrial internet of things market, drawing on the operator’s diverse experience in the development of state-of-the-art communication standards and providing a broad range of M2M services to both private and corporate clients”.
“We are confident that closer cooperation with RAII will give us additional capabilities when it comes to the formation and development of the industrial internet of things market and to take it to the next level. From this partnership, MegaFon anticipates an open proactive dialogue, intensive exchange of the latest domestic and international experience in the implementation of large-scale and targeted IIoT projects and the creation of universal market standards and the regulatory base for the industry’s development on the whole”, said Natalya Taldykina, Director, Corporate Business Development, MegaFon .
This is the third agreement of this type: the first was signed with Rostelecom, which then became a member of RAII; the second was signed by Rosseti, which has begun the corporate procedure of becoming a member. RAII is actively involved in forming the agenda for the Innoprom 2017 Big Industrial Week, which is largely devoted to smart industrial technologies, and plans to organize a special event as part of this week. The main theme of the upcoming Innoprom is Smart Production: A Global Approach. Delegates from 95 countries attended in 2016.
